The reason why such injuries end up happening is because wrestling being a tough sport involves a lot of body contact and each wrestler tries to prove that he is the man of steel, no injury can keep him down. These injuries are however, not intentional and definitely not a part of the script (the scriptwriters are not that inhuman). They may result from a wrong shot taken by the performer. Zack even tweeted about his blood coughs. It was not only Zack Ryder alone to have gone through such injuries, even the Rock landed up with a similar injury when he went on to feud with The Shield earlier the past January.

Jack Swagger has recently changed his wrestling style. It has become stiffer and more intense than the moves that he used to make in the previous years. And this is what has caused all the trouble to Zack Ryder. Hence although he is known for his solid performance, the moves must have been too hard on Zack. But his fans are really tensed after such an incident occurred and they hope that this happens to Zack for the last time. However, with the apparent ferocity of the game in the name of entertainment, such things are bound to recur.
